Institutions: Global cloud computing spending in the third quarter rose 21% year-on-year
On November 21st, according to the data from Jins, the market research institution Canalys' latest report shows that in the third quarter of 2024, global spending on cloud infrastructure services rose by 21% year-on-year, reaching 82 billion US dollars. The ranking of the top three cloud vendors (AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud) remained unchanged from the previous quarter, accounting for a total of 64% of global cloud spending. The total spending of these three vendors rose by 26% year-on-year, and all achieved a quarter-on-quarter rise. AWS' annual rise rate was 19%, unchanged from the previous quarter, but lower than Microsoft (33%) and Google Cloud (36%). However, in terms of actual amounts, AWS' revenue rise (an increase of about 4.4 billion US dollars year-on-year) exceeded that of Microsoft and Google Cloud.
