Bessent leads the candidates for the next Fed chair, according to a global fund manager survey.

On July 15, Bank of America’s July Global Fund Manager Survey shows that U.S. Treasury Secretary Basant is the most popular candidate to succeed Fed Chairman Powell.

President Trump is expected to nominate a new Fed chair in the second half of 2025, while Powell's term will end in May 2026.

The survey shows that 26% of respondents believe that Bostic will become the next Fed chair, followed by 17% supporting Walsh, 14% supporting Waller, and 7% believing that Hassett will be elected.
