Abstract generation in progress

On July 17 (UTC+8), Gavin Wood, the founder of Polkadot, stated at the recently held Web3 Summit that the annual $500 million Staking security expenditure under the current NPoS model needs to end. He believes that this structure leads to capital outflow and incentive misalignment. The short-term reform proposals put forward by Gavin Wood include significantly reducing incentives, setting validator fiat salaries, and governance allocations for intermediary funding pools. In addition, he also suggested launching a native Polkadot stablecoin and shifting the treasury expenditure structure towards this stablecoin settlement.
