The European Commission plans to publish an EU-wide strategy document next year to ensure that countries can play a synergistic role when promoting AI robots and technologies across the continent, as reported by IT House on January 24. The EU's executive agency will work closely with the 27 member states in the first two quarters of the year to develop an AI-powered robotics strategy to ensure Europe remains "important" in the sector, according to a portion of the EU's internal meeting minutes revealed by Euronews. According to the report, this strategy will cover all aspects of robot development and application, and will be linked to other relevant European Commission programs (such as the AI in the Workplace Initiative, the Artificial Intelligence Act). At the same time, due to the increasing demand for robots, which are mainly used in industries such as healthcare, agri-food, logistics and manufacturing, Europe is facing challenges in terms of robot labor adaptation and safety.
